Dress Code

DRESS CODE

Blessed Thomas Holford recognises that standards of dress are important in conveying an image of our college to the wider community. It is crucial to note that student appearance in the Sixth form contributes to Blessed Thomas Holford’s culture and reputation in the community and across the college. Our sixth form students are role models for younger students in our college and are therefore expected to present themselves in a smart and professional manor.

  • A single-breasted jacket, smart cardigan or smart jumper
  • Dark smart shoes (no trainers, pumps, walking boots, UGG boots must be worn)

Students may wear coats and scarves on entrance into the buildings, but these should be removed on entrance to the classroom.

Hairstyles

Hairstyles must comply with the whole college policy due to the nature of being an ambassador/ role model for other students in the college. Please refer to the college website for our whole college behaviour and appearance code.

Any student wearing unacceptable attire will be referred to the KS5 team. Spare uniform will be provided for students to borrow for the day. If a repeat breach of the appearance code occurs, then students may be sent home to change their attire.

We are aware that there is a degree of interpretation in this code. We would like you to understand that, ultimately, we would like to give you a degree of freedom, expect you to look 'smart' and be role models for our year 7 to 11 students.

Dress will be monitored by your tutors and the Head of Sixth Form on a regular basis. The college reserves the right to send you home to change if you arrive at college wearing inappropriate clothes.
