Voluntary Contributions

At Blessed Thomas Holford Catholic College, we are proud to provide a learning environment rooted in our Catholic faith, where every young person is encouraged to achieve excellence academically, spiritually and personally.
When families choose a Catholic education, they do so knowing that their child will benefit from an environment built on Gospel values, high expectations and a commitment to nurturing the whole person. Maintaining and developing such an environment requires ongoing investment in our buildings and facilities to ensure that our students have the very best spaces in which to learn, grow and thrive.
As a Catholic Voluntary Aided school, we receive government funding for the day-to-day running of the College. However, unlike many other state schools, we are required to contribute 10% of the cost of all major building improvements, repairs and development projects. This requirement has been part of Catholic education for many decades and enables us to retain our distinctive Catholic character and traditions.
The College Building Fund plays a vital role in helping us meet this responsibility. Contributions support essential improvements and maintenance across the College, ensuring that our students continue to benefit from safe, modern and inspiring learning environments. Without these funds, many important projects simply could not go ahead.
To help make contributions more manageable for families, we are asking for a voluntary donation of £30 per family per year, which can now be paid in one of the following ways:
Payment Options
Option 1: Three termly instalments
- £10 in September
- £10 in January
- £10 in May
Option 2: One annual payment
- £30 via ScoPay
Families who are able to contribute more are warmly invited to do so, while those who may find the suggested donation difficult are welcome to make a contribution according to their circumstances. Every donation, regardless of size, makes a genuine difference and is greatly appreciated.
As the College Building Fund is a registered charitable fund, UK taxpayers can increase the value of their donation through Gift Aid at no additional cost. If you are eligible, please remember to select the Gift Aid option when making your contribution online.
We are incredibly grateful for the continued generosity of our families. Your support enables us to invest in the facilities our students use every day and helps ensure that future generations of young people continue to benefit from an outstanding Catholic education.
Thank you for your ongoing support of Blessed Thomas Holford Catholic College and our mission.
Yours sincerely,
Mrs C. Hogg
