Congratulations! You are about to experience one of the most exciting phases of your education, and take a big step into your future!
We know that during your time at Sixth Form, you will grow and mature as a person and prepare yourself for adult life, gaining more independence and learning lots about what makes you special.
That’s why everything about our Sixth Form provision is designed to both support and challenge you as you move through this important stage in your life.
HELPING US TO ALL BECOME SAINTS - Worship and prayer are central to the life of the college and we seek to provide engaging, innovative and creative experiences of the richness of the Catholic tradition.
MAKING GOD'S LOVE OUR GUIDING CURRICULUM - The curriculum has been designed to inspire and challenge all learners and prepare them for adult life. The college aims to develop a broad and balanced curriculum that helps all our students to become successful learners, confident individuals and responsible citizens.
DOING GOOD TO EVERYONE WITHOUT PARTIALITY - Each and every one of our students are special and have their own talents. The hard work and commitment to education we see from our students is wonderful. Working along side their teachers and each other they strive for excellence in everything they do.
LOVE MAKES US SIMILAR; IT CREATES EQUALITY, IT BREAKS DOWN WALLS AND ELIMINATES DISTANCE - We are a family here at Blessed Thomas Holford and we have a commitment to the young people in our care, encouraging and inspiring every child to fulfil their God-given potential and to flourish. We place as much emphasis on the pastoral care and faith development of the child as we do on academic excellence.
PASTORAL MISSION WHICH IS KIND, PATIENT AND PROTECTS, HOPES AND PERSEVERES - We aim to develop students to become well-rounded citizens who are equipped to face the challenges in our modern society. Through a variety of topics, students are encouraged to question and discuss their own beliefs and understanding of various issues that affect them and those who live and work around them.
“At vero eos et accusam et justo duo ipsum dolor sit amet, consetetur, lorem sed diam nonumy eirmod tempor invidunt ut labore et dolore magna.”
I have enjoyed having the independence within a supportive environment to discover who I am as a person and what matters to me as I prepare for my next steps.
In the Sixth Form I get to study the subjects I am really interested in and during my independent study time I get to decide the way I will learn the best for me. The teachers know us and relationships are strong and supportive. I also have the freedom to study a topic entirely of my own choice through the EPQ which will help me in my future career.
Being in Sixth Form we have several opportunities to get involved in the catholic life of the school. Recently we have visited forms and launched whole school appeals, such as the advent appeal involving all year groups across the school. This will be a time for our whole school family to come together in love and generosity as we collect for Caritas.
In the Sixth Form we have a wide range of opportunities for enrichment. So far I have participated in the Sixth Form football, where we play in a number of local and national competitions. This half term I am doing ‘fun food’ which gives us a chance to use creativity and work as a team to create our very own tasty treats.
