Personal Development
We have a full and well-established Personal Development programme which is delivered to all students by their own form tutor, alongside outside providers who have specialisms in required areas. We aim to develop students to become well-rounded citizens who are equipped to face the challenges in our modern society. Through a variety of topics, students are encouraged to question and discuss their own beliefs and understanding of various issues that affect them and those who live and work around them.
The curriculum aims to equip students with the knowledge, understanding, attitudes and practical skills to live healthy, safe, productive, and fulfilled lives. Along with the TEN TEN Life to the full programme (RSE), assemblies, student briefings and content delivered in other curriculum subjects, the PSHCE curriculum develops an important understanding and appreciation of the British Values of democracy, rule of law, individual liberty and respect and tolerance. The students’ spiritual, moral and ethical development is also addressed through assemblies, numerous faith in action opportunities' such as the pupils St Vincent De Paul group, Wednesday Word, Thoughtful Thursday and collective worship such as Friday Morning Mass, student retreats and in other intangible ways which permeate the ethos of the college.
