Year 12 A-Level Politics meet Local MPs Sir Graham Brady and Mike Kane

Our Year 12 Students have had the opportunity over the last 2 weeks to meet virtually with two of our local MPs Sir Graham Brady and Mike Kane.

Our year 12 Politics lessons have been fantastic over the last couple of weeks as we have brought current MPs into the classroom virtually! First was Sir Graham Brady: Conservative MP for Altrincham and Sale West, Graham and has been an MP continuously since 1 May 1997. He is Chair, Conservative Party 1922 Committee.

This week our students met MP Mike Kane; Mike is the Labour MP for Wythenshawe and Sale East, and has been an MP continuously since 13 February 2014. He currently undertakes the role of Shadow Minister (Transport).

Both special guests allowed our students to get a real insight into the day-to-day workings of the government and how local MPs can make change in their local constituencies. This opportunity was invaluable our students in their studies of politics.

Next week our students will be joined by Kate Green MP, Kate is the Labour MP for Stretford and Urmston, and has been an MP continuously since 6 May 2010. She currently undertakes the role of Shadow Secretary of State for Education.

We would like to thank Sir Graham Brady and Mike Kane for taking the time to join our lessons, our students thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity.
